ACL 2026 Artist Spotlight: Dexter & The Moonrocks

Dexter and the Moonrocks won’t have to drive too far from home this October as they return to Austin City Limits this Fall.

Formed in Throckmorton, TX in 2021, the quartet forms part of a wave of country rock coming out of the South and Appalachia. Although being signed to a label with industry veterans since 2023, the band’s breakout moment didn’t come about until their single “Freakin’ Out” went viral on TikTok.

The band has a few EPs out and songs like “Ritalin” that charted on the Billboard 100, but they’re still working on their debut album, set to be released in early October.

If you want to be one of the people with bragging rights to a band such as ‘Oh, I was there since the start,’ now’s a good time to hop on the bandwagon. Dexter and the Moonrocks caught the wave of virality and are riding it into stable success, even if some of the milestones may seem a bit out of order. However, that is not to say they are some kind of industry plant.Years of hard work came long before their first hit.

Catch Dexter and the Moonrocks’ ACL debut on Saturday, Oct. 4. They’re only playing Weekend 1, so if you’re the type to chase exclusivity, this is your shot.

Austin City Limits Music Festival will be happening on October 2–4 and October 9–11, 2026. Check out the full lineup and get your ACL 2026 tickets here: https://www.aclfestival.com/tickets
