We are looking for Off Record Blog Contributors!

Want to express your love for the music scene? ORB is seeking writers, photographers, videographers and designers who want to show their passion for music, media and culture. While the is an unpaid freelance opportunity, ORB contributors will get the chance to gain experience in their chosen field with a digital publication. You will also get the chance to be a part of an amazing and collaborative team!

ALL CONTRIBUTORS MUST BE BASED IN TEXAS.

WRITER + PHOTO CONTRIBUTORS

WRITERS

  • Absolutely no writing experience is required. When applying, just submit something that showcases your writing ability.
  • Must have the ability to write without supervision, and must be attentive to rules and deadlines.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

  • Must be based in Houston or Austin (any other applicants will not be considered)
  • Will be required to write as we don’t publish ‘gallery’ only articles
  • Must be willing to cover smaller shows including locals and up-and-coming artists (our contributors must be versatile to what artists they can cover)
  • Be available to cover a minimum of ONE show a month
  • All applicants must own their own camera equipment and have basic experience in photography.
  • Applications due on 5/10 at 11:59pm. Applicants will be notified of status by 5/12.

DESIGNERS

  • No professional experience is required, but all applicants must have experience using design programs like Adobe or Canva.
  • Experience creating modern graphics is a PLUS.
  • Must be attentive to deadlines and instructions.
