Alternative rock band Young The Giant brings their Victory Garden Tour to Dallas with opening acts Cold War Kids and Beach Weather.
On July 11th at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Dallas, fans trickled into their seats and eagerly waited to see a band that they love dearly. Young the Giant brought their new album, Victory Garden, to Dallas that night. With a stunning flowery backdrop and beautifully planned lighting, the night was visually memorable to their fans. Along with the show’s well-made set and production, Young the Giant put together a setlist curated for their fans. With a good mix of songs from each of their albums, putting in radio hits and chart-toppers along with favorites within the fan base. Playing songs such as “Superposition”, “Different Kind Of Love”, and their most well-known song, “Cough Syrup”.
Joining Young the Giant on the entirety of the U.S. tour was indie rock band Cold War Kids. Also joining them for select cities were Common People, Little Image, and indie rock band Beach Weather, who joined the lineup in Dallas that night. Both of these bands were a perfect fit to open up for Young the Giant. Not only are they within the same genre as each other, but a lot of the fans in the crowd that night knew and sang quite a few songs from both opening acts, helping to bring the perfect atmosphere for the fans.
During the show, the band said they wanted this album, Victory Garden, to feel really special. To have a true connection to their fans and to create an album through the eyes of a child. The band members decided to do four different retreats away from friends, family, and the average recording studio. Isolating themselves in the desert of Joshua Tree and Idyllwild, California. Writing and recording the entirety of the album much like they did for their first album 15 years ago. They stated that they were very proud of this latest album they created and were very excited to bring it on tour.
