Spanish bedroom pop / latin R&B singer Rusowsky performed hits from his latest album Daisy, along with other hits, at White Oak Music Hall in Houston for his only Texas show of his mini North American tour.
Spanish bedroom-pop innovator Rusowsky made his first-ever Houston appearance at White Oak Music Hall, where he delivered an intimate performance that bridged underground experimentalism.
Bathed in mood lighting, the classical musician-turned-indie star took over the stage with an effortless presence. He came out wearing a boot, where he noted that he broke his pinky toe earlier that day while scootering in the city. He still managed to jump around, do backflips, and interact with the crowd, as if nothing was happening. The packed crowd echoed every line in unison on tracks like “So So” and “Mwah :3”, while glitchy electronic breakdowns from his album DAISY shook the room.
Rusowsky transformed a long-awaited Texas debut into an unforgettable milestone for Houston’s Latin music scene. Those packed inside WOMH were treated to an ‘I was there’ moment before he inevitably fills much larger venues.
EDIT: He is now set to perform at Austin City Limits in Austin, TX this Fall.
