Houston’s local DIY Festival showcases upcoming rising artists, including Orpheus Von Doom, Lavi Bly, Sofia Sampaio, and more.
The first annual Beauty in Our Tragedies Music Festival graced the grounds of Houston’s favorite local bar and venue, Axelrad on March 21st, 2026. Surrounded by the arts and music culture in the heart of Midtown in Houston, visitors are open to enjoy the festivities of live local bands and the opportunity to have drinks and access to a photo booth to capture their memories.
The formation of Beauty in Our Tragedies, hosted by Wesley Dox of Stardust Booking, took the initiative of establishing a unique lineup of upcoming emerging artists and vendors. The festival included performances by headliners c Luna Luna and Orca. Along to support the talented musical acts bands such as, Görge, Turnaways, Azul, JonoJono, Wesley Dox, Blossom Aloe, Cameron Sonnier, Lavi Bly, Sofia Sampaio, Orpheus Von Doom, David Reyna, Brutes and Acrolein performed on one of two stages at Axelrad.
The start of the festival began on a sunny Saturday spring afternoon as the rays shined down as the stages and production were being set up. There was a buzz of energy that lingered throughout the bar as anticipation was starting to build up. Lines started to form at the bar as visitors grabbed their drinks to watch the start of the performances.
The sets began promptly at 2pm with the supporting acts kicking off the festival debut. The crowd was massively in tune with the performances as they listened and watched along to the artists. In the rising heat of the moment it was a sight to see the energy increasing as the acts went on. As the sun began to set and the night lingered on, the shimmer and glimmer of the string lights illuminated the faces of attendees and an inviting atmosphere that filled the space.
Beauty In Our Tragedies booked a wide range of bands that spans multiple musical genres that every visitor will leave with a new favorite artist. Its distinction of creating such an infinite spectrum is sure to gravitate audiences in any capacity.

There was a perfect raw and demanding attitude that was brought on by various acts. If you’re more into the alternative, punk, or rock and roll genre, artists such as the Turnaways, Brutes, Acrolein, Orpheus Von Doom, Wesley Dox, Blossom Aloe, Azul, and Juno Juno fulfilled the angsty teen heart of yours. Their electric and driven stage presence captured the attention of concert-goers faulting into their heartbeats being powered by the thunder of bolting drums and wailing guitars.
In contrast, the luscious and ethereal voices of Luna Luna, Orca, Sophia Sampaio, Lavi Bly, David Reyna, Cameron Sonnier, and Görge who all have their own blend of indie rock and shoegaze influences, challenged the visceral intensity of the driven rock bands into a fascinating love spell ridden bound that connected to awestruck attendees.
Beauty In Our Tragedies is a must attend festival for lovers of music and want the chance to see amazing local artists from Texas who are soon to become the next big thing. It is the perfect getaway for an afternoon hangout that lasts until the nightly hours. One of the most enlightening outcomes of this night was seeing the interaction of the artists supporting and getting to know one another. It is the perfect place to create bonds and long lasting creative friendships that is sure to live on until the end.
