Openers Silent Rival and Laundry Day accompany headliner Neon Trees at the Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas.
Last week, Neon Trees continued their “Favorite Daze” tour at the Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas, Texas. Before the show even started, the venue was packed with fans of all ages. The audience accumulated on the main floor, as well as in the VIP section and balcony. The first opener to hit the stage was Silent Rival, a three-piece band from Los Angeles. Over the past few years, Silent Rival has released a series of EPs and albums. Their most popular track is “Just One Voice,” which has amassed almost 500,000 streams on Spotify. Silent Rival delivered a high-energy performance, and got the crowd moving.
The second opener to hit the stage was Laundry Day, an alternative band from New York. This year, Laundry Day released their 26 track album Younger Than I Was Before. During their set, Laundry Day revealed that Dallas was the first city they performed in outside of New York a few years ago. The band played a mixture of old and new fan favorites, including “Y.K.Y.N.U.N.Y.” and “Jane”.
The last act of the night was headliner Neon Trees, the iconic rock band from Utah. With more than 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, their biggest hits are “Everybody Talks” and “Animal”, which have more than a billion combined streams. This year they have released two singles, “Favorite Daze” and “Losing My Head”. Lead singer Tyler Glenn donned green sunglasses, a leather jacket detailed with colorful patches, and black loafers. The set design was stunning, and incorporated neon lighting and an elevated stage for the drummer. The five-piece band were grooving, and played a compilation of tracks including a cover of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven”. Despite the lead singer not feeling too well, Neon Trees put on an electric show.
