Meldrop stops by RUINS in Dallas with opener Lavalove.
Last Thursday, indie band Meldrop continued their “Good From Afar” tour at Ruins in Dallas, Texas. For this tour, they were accompanied by rock band Lavalove. On that warm spring evening, attendees got their tickets scanned and entered the Limbo Room, a spot in the back of Ruins. Setting foot into the venue, fans could buy drinks at the bar or check out the merch tables decked with a variety of apparel, posters, vinyl, and more. The Limbo Room was covered in colorful and intriguing artwork, and was the ultimate location for an electric night of music.
The first act to hit the stage was Lavalove, an indie-pop band from Los Angeles, California. Lavalove has almost 30 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their song “Guts” has garnered more than a million streams. This month, they released their second album titled Tan Lines. Lavalove brought the energy and got the audience singing and clapping along with them. They played a compilation of tracks from their most recent release and also their debut album, Love Sick. Overall, Lavalove was the perfect band to get the show started.

The last act to hit the stage was Meldrop, an indie-rock band from Tacoma, Washington. Meldrop has more than 400 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their track “Goodman” has accumulated almost 8 million streams. In 2025, they put out their latest EP titled Melodaze. This year, Meldrop has released two singles so far, “Reggie ‘93” and “Medchill”. The band showed Texas some love, and two members wore Buc-ee’s jerseys during their set. Meldrop played some groovy tunes, and the crowd (including their friends Lavalove) danced to the beat. The band interacted with their fans and with each other, which made for an intimate experience. All in all, both Lavalove and Meldrop delivered lively and memorable performances at the iconic Dallas venue.
