Levitation Fest, Austin’s beloved underground music festival, returns to the city on September 10th through 13th. It features acts like American Football, Bikini Kill, The Garden, and more.
Levitation 2026 will take Austin by storm again for four days, for what has proven to be the must-attend event of the year for lovers of any alternative or underground music scene. This year of Levitation is particularly notable in its spanning of genres in such unique ways.
Moreover, from stoner rock to darkwave, math rock to riot grrrl and much in between, many favorite Austin spots such as Stubb’s, Mohawk and Radio East played host to these iconic musicians such as the long running punk group American Football, Belarusian dark wavers Molchat Doma, monolithic Sleep and eclectic Peter Hook & The Light, The Garden, and Arlo Parks among a myriad of others and the stacked four-day festival should be experienced not only for the curated combinations of live acts rarely to be found elsewhere but also the highly elevated live sets to grace classic Texans-owned rooms.
At the top of a iconic acts performing at Radio/East, riot grrrl heroes Bikini Kill are the centerpiece to your festival plan, bringing their unrivaled legacy. This group originated the 1990s riot grrrl revolution with their own definitive blueprint of uncompromising politics, raw power anthems (“Rebel Girl”, “Double Dare Ya”), and electrifying energy. Checking out their show is an essential must, as they anchor today’s agenda, and while be joined by Austin upstarts Die Spitz and mark Gibby Haynes’ freak-show return. This’ll be a pure masterclass in punk DIY lore, and will no doubt stand as a benchmark for Levitation 2026.
This year’s lineup also includes numerous darkwave + goth acts, including Belarusian band MOLCHAT DOMA and the legendary Peter Hook & The Light.
Radio/East will serve as the festival’s central hub with an expanded two-stage layout, guiding attendees between the main stages and curated experiences. Levitation’s late-night and club shows remain a fixture, continuing across Red River and throughout Austin for energized evenings after sunset.
The festival’s multi-venue format invites fans to choose their own adventure or commit to a four-day pass for full access across venues and festival experiences. Additionally, a secret Sunday headliner, along with other festival additions and updates, will be announced in the coming weeks.
