An Electrifying Night: NOAHFINNCE Live at the Bronze Peacock in Houston

NOAHFINNCE took the stage at the Bronze Peacock within the House of Blues on Friday, March 29th, 2024, as part of his Growing Up On The Internet tour. The venue was brimmed with enthusiastic fans eagerly anticipating the performances to come.

TEENAGE JOANS

“ Houston, Texas, baby! What’s going on?! We are the Teenage Joans. Thank you for this opportunity! We are glad to be here!”

Cahli Blakers of the Teenage Joans

The Teenage Joans kick off their performance by introducing themselves, setting the stage for their rendition of “What’s New Scooby-Doo?” They engage the crowd, prompting everyone to sing the iconic theme song. Transitioning seamlessly, they delve into their original track, “Terrible,” characterized by its lively indie rock vibe, featuring energetic guitar riffs and dynamic drum beats. They get the crowd to sing along to the chorus, “I’m terrible, but I’ll do, I’m terrible, but I’m not you.” Comprising of Talhia Borg and Cahli Blakers, the Teenage Joans are an Australian indie rock duo making waves with their vibrant sound.

Their lively and charismatic personalities stood out when interacting with the crowd. They expressed that it was their first time in Houston. Blakers joked with the crowd, saying, “One thing they don’t tell you in Texas is that everything is bigger.” Members of the crowd shouted iconic Texas establishments such as Buccee’s and Whataburger, in which the duo expressed their love for Buccee’s as they went there early the previous day, describing the experience as “a fever dream.”

During their performance, the crowd gave them continuous enthusiastic support, especially when, between songs, the duo would joke and interact with them. Standout songs from their performance are “Candy Apple” and the cover of the song “Call Me Maybe.” They ended their performance with the song “Superglue” with a resounding applause.

TX2

TX2 made a memorable entrance with their electrifying performance of “Vampire By Rumor.” The lead singer, Evan Thomas, captivated the audience with his remarkable stage presence, drawing close to the crowd. The audience enthusiastically sang and danced along as the heavy drumbeat resonated through the venue. Their rapid-fire and clever lyrics, accompanied by impressive instrumentals, showcased exceptional musicality. Midway through the song, they treated the audience to a brief instrumental breakdown. Thomas then engaged the crowd, inquiring if anyone was familiar with TX2 prior to the performance. Introducing the track as “Vampire By Rumor,” he emphasized its significance to the band’s fans.

A standout moment in the performance is amidst the instrumental breakdown in “TRUST NO ONE,” Thomas prepares the crowd for a mosh pit, signaling the energetic transition into the song’s latter half. As the crowd clears space for the impending mosh pit, Thomas seamlessly continues singing before leaving the stage to kickstart the energetic chaos of the mosh pit.

“Houston, I have a question. I just chipped my tooth, and I’m ready for f*cking more. How many of you know how to mosh? I heard shit about you, Texas, and you have been great every time. Don’t let me down. I’m coming to the mosh pit! When the song drops, you mosh!”

Evan Thomas of TX2

The standout tracks of the performance were “TRUST NO ONE,” “Burn,” and “Black Wedding.” As their finale, “I Would Hate Me Too,” TX2 received fervent applause from the audience, concluding their thrilling set. They briefly reintroduced themselves, extended their gratitude to the crowd, and exited the stage. Soon, the most anticipated performance would come.

NOAHFINNCE

Accompanied by a mesmerizing techno instrumental, NOAHFINNCE graced the stage, capturing the audience’s attention. As the instrumental faded, they launched into the song “GROWING UP ON THE INTERNET,” eliciting an enthusiastic response from the crowd, with fans eagerly singing and clapping along. Finishing the song, Noah Finn, lead singer, spoke to the crowd, saying, “How are we doing, Houston!?[crowd cheers enthusiastically] Good!” They then continue with the next song, “3 DAY HEADACHE.”

“HELLO! Bloody hell! It’s warm in this f*cking country, isn’t it? So this venue is actually the first show that we ever played in the US. Was anybody there two years ago? [crowd cheers] And who’s new? [crowd cheers] And the rest of you are just not alive there, right? Well, have any of you watched my YouTube videos? [crowd cheers]”
