Strawberry Girls visited Houston for the fourth date on their Prussian Gloom tour.
The first of the opening acts, Tang, was a groovy performance and had the crowd moving from the very start of the night. Their guitarist, Taylor Neal, also joined Strawberry Girls during their set. He stole the show with his impressive technique and joyous energy.
Standards was the second band to play. The two-piece band from Los Angeles carried the show with energetic stage presence and a funky backing-track while they performed.
Body Thief, which was the second to last opening band of the night, also put on a fantastic show. Being the only band on the bill that included a vocalist, Body Thief was a unique addition to the mix. Their vocalist, Dani Hawkins, was very interactive with the crowd and kept the energy high.
Strawberry Girls put on a killer show at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, TX on Sunday. Hailing from Salinas in California, Strawberry Girls is a three-piece instrumental band. Playing several songs from their new album Prussian Gloom, they got the entire crowd jumping and dancing. Towards the end of the show while playing the song “Moonwalker,” members of the opening bands came out and danced with Strawberry Girls on stage, even bringing out a Nintendo Switch and a cowbell.
Strawberry Girls will be continuing their Prussian Gloom tour with the last stop being in San Diego on April 28th.
I’m a Houston based photographer who loves being around live music and all the creative people involved in the local music scene. I enjoy capturing performers and artists doing what they love and the essence of how live music makes people feel. When Im not behind the lens, I love trying new things and visiting new places.
