SXSW 2025: TV Lineup Just Announced

Along with its announcement of films set to premiere at SXSW 2025, the festival also announced its slate of TV Premieres including Happy Face and The Studio.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is known for celebrating the intersection of technology, music, film, and culture. Along with the groundbreaking film premieres, it’s television portion has become a key highlight of the festival. SXSW’s TV lineup and premieres brings a diverse lineup that spans scripted dramas, comedies, documentaries, and experimental formats. On top of providing a platform to artists and filmmakers alike, SXSW also serves as a launchpad for some of the most anticipated television projects of the year.

SXSW 2025 TV Premieres

This year’s series premieres include acclaimed showrunners and directors such as Ramy Youssef, Paul Hunter, and Seth Rogen. The 2025 selection includes:


The Studio (showrunners Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg) – starring Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, Kathryn Hahn. Apple TV + Exclusive.

Happy Face (showrunner Jennifer Cacicio) – starring Annaleigh Ashford, Dennis Quaid, James Wolk, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne, Benjamin Mackey. Paramount Plus Exclusive.

Government Cheese (showrunners Paul Hunter and Aeysha Carr) – starring David Oyelowo, Simone Missick, Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Evan Ellison, Bokeem Woodbine. Apple TV + Exclusive.

TV Spotlight

TV Spotlight focuses on new television shows around the world and highlights anticipating projects. From high-profile dramas/comedies to genre-defying documentaries, this section offers audiences an inside look at the creative process behind their favorite shows. This year’s selection includes:

Dates in Real Life (Norway) (showrunner Jakob Rørvik) – starring ina Bernhoft Gørvell, Jacques Colimon, Mathias Luppichini, Heidi Goldmann, Amund Sigurdssønn.
Dui Shaw (Bangladesh) (showrunner Nuhash Humayun) – starring Allen Shubhro, Rizvi Rizu, Refat Hasan Saykat, Abdullah Sentu, Rafayatullah Sohan, Faiza Rahman Noon.
Mix Tape (Canada, Australia, Finland, Ireland) (showrunner Jo Spain) – starring im Sturgess, Teresa Palmer, Florence Hunt, Rory Walton-Smith.

Independent TV Pilot

The Independent TV Pilot section discovers new pilots from indie talent. This is a platform for innovative new series, offering a first look at fresh concepts from up-and-coming and veteran creators alike. This year’s selection includes:

Stars Diner (director Fidel Ruiz-Healy) – starring Mary Neely, DeMorge Brown, Henri Cash, Cole Hersch, Chris Thayer, Natalie Palamides.
F-ckUps Anonymous (showrunner Joe Tierney) – starring Sarah Jeffery, Andrew Michael Fama, Debbie Campbell, Lexi Simonsen, Bob Gallagher, Marvin St-Jean, Stephen Gray, Timothy Griffin Allan.
Denim (showrunner Tedra Wilson).
