Fana Hues Mesmerizes Houston on the Matters of the Heart Tour

Some artists sing about emotions; Fana Hues makes you feel them. On March 27, 2025, at the Bronze Peacock in House of Blues Houston, she didn’t just perform–she pulled the audience into her world. The Matters of the Heart Tour was filled with pure artistry and raw talent.

The night started strong with PAMÉ, the Dominican Queen herself. From the jump, she had the crowd vibing, opening with “Edge of Falling” and bringing a contagious energy that couldn’t be ignored. “Houston, how y’all doing? So my name is PAMÉ, everybody say PAMÉ!” she called out, and the audience answered loud and clear.

Her sound was a flawless blend of both English and Spanish that flowed effortlessly, proving that music transcends language. Songs like “Lágrimas de Cocodrilo” showcased her vocal depth, but it was “Bustelo” that really got the crowd moving. With rapid, rhythmic delivery and a stage presence that oozed confidence, PAMÉ wasn’t just warming the stage–she was setting a high bar.

Soon, the lights dimmed once more. The stage was bathed in the soft pink neon glow of Fana Hues’ name and her latest album, Moth. The opening notes of “Take 2” pulsed through the speakers, and the second she stepped out, it was clear that this was her moment.

Her voice was pure magic. The kind that stops you in your tracks, the kind that makes every lyric hit deep. By the time she finished “Paper Tigers,” she was already locked in with the crowd. “Houston! How y’all doing? I can’t lie, the vibe already has me on ten! I hope you guys are ready for a good time,” Fana Hues said:

“This is the Matters of the Heart Tour, and I’m going to sing a lot of songs from my new album, Moth, but before we get into that, can I take us back just a little bit?” With a loud “YES!” from the crowd, she dove into “Gone Again.”

Her set was a rollercoaster of emotions–one moment you’re lost in heartbreak with “Perfect Delusion” and “Icarus,” the next, you’re caught up in the groove of “Rental.” Midway through, she ditched her heels, signaling it was time to loosen up. And when she danced? The whole venue moved with her.

Fana Hues closed her main set with “Fall in Line,” but Houston wasn’t ready to say goodbye. The chants for an encore grew louder and louder, and she answered. “SWEET/I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE” was the perfect ending–except for one thing. Midway through, her mic cut out. Technical issues? No problem. She didn’t miss a beat, letting the audience take over, turning what could’ve been a setback into an unforgettable, communal moment. Before leaving the stage, she expressed her love and gratitude to everyone for being there.

This night, we saw artists pour every ounce of themselves into their craft. Giving those in attendance a night to remember. When you commit fully to your art, people feel it. And that? That’s the kind of energy that stays with you long after the concert is over.
