Well-known Tejano band Grupo Frontera made their memorable return to Houston’s Toyota Center for the Triste Pero Bien C*brón Tour.
Texas-band based Grupo Frontera stepped onto the stage in Houston for a third consecutive year. They are celebrating not just another concert but an incredible success story – they’ve offered a unique take on contemporary música mexicana by merging traditional Norteño and Tejano music with pop and cumbia styles.
From the very beginning of the performance until the end of the encore, it was clear that they are no longer riding a wave; they have really grown from being a cover band in the Rio Grande Valley to being one of the most popular streaming sensations. Lead singer Adelaido “Payo” Solís managed to make the audience sing their favorite songs as loud as possible.
Their presence was like a party, and each song is a tribute to their success. They performed songs like “Frágil” and “Tulum,” which showed their musical versatility. The highlight was definitely the Morat cover “No Se Va,” as the song became their breakthrough. Not much later, people were singing “un x100to” in unison with them.
Grupo Frontera is really good at making hits. They are even better when they perform live, this shows that they are an important part of the Tejano music scene. Texas has a lot of music groups, like Intocable and Grupo Duelo. Grupo Frontera likes to play music with a lot of energy from the accordion and classic dance beats. They are making the music sound new and fresh for young people.
When the night ended with an exciting performance of “El Amor de Su Vida,” it was clear that Grupo Frontera is not just keeping the tradition of Texas Latin music alive. They are also helping it reach people all around the world. Grupo Frontera is taking the music that was born in Texas and sharing it with everyone everywhere.
