Regional Mexican Singer DannyLux Brought the TOUR OF LUX to Houston’s White Oak Music Hall

DannyLux performs a packed show in the Downstairs room at White Oak Music Hall, and it was definitely a night to remember.

The revival of Regional Mexican music is going strong, especially with the likings of Peso Pluma, Eslabon Armado, Ivan Cornejo, and many more. Dannylux falls within that category, as he is deemed a rising Regional Mexican artist in the field. His popularity skyrocketed after being featured in Eslabon Armado’s “Jugaste y Sufrí,” which further established his name in the scene. The singer released his debut album Las Dos Caras del Amor in 2021, followed by two consecutive albums in 2022. In 2024, he released EVOLUXION, the follow up to his 2023 album DLUX, which features the viral TikTok song “HOUSE OF LUX.” He sought out on a major 2024 tour across the US and Mexico, including a stop at Houston’s White Oak Music Hall.

Fans were eager for DannyLux to take the stage, as every arrived early to gather a good spot in front of the stage. A Mexican flag dropped across the side of the stage as the lights dimmed, further spreading his culture to the Houston crowd. DannyLux’s backing band entered the stage as everyone cheered, and DannyLux soon followed wearing an iconic Green Day shirt and starting the night off with the unreleased “Ciudad del Sol” and “Junto a Ti.” The setlist included other popular hits like “Zafiro,” “Tristeza y Traición,” and “Maldito Alcohol.” The singer also proceeded to sing a awe-inspiring cover of Peso Pluma’s “Luna,” where everyone immediately took their phones out to record and sing along.

Other songs in the set included “Sal de Mi Mente,” “Si Supieras,” “Amar y Perder” and “24/7.” He played the hits that contributed to his popularity towards the end, such as “Corazon Frio” Eslabon Armado’s “Jugaste y Sufrí,” and ended with “HOUSE OF LUX II” and “HOUSE OF LUX.” The singer continuously expressed his gratitude for being able to make music and allowing fans to relate to his songs and its meanings. Through the mannerisms of ballads, DannyLux manages to write about heartbreak and other notions in the most thoughtful way, something he also takes urgency in through his live shows.
