Irish rock band Inhaler transformed the stage into a vibrant celebration of music and heritage, delivering an unforgettable performance on St. Patrick’s Day.
Touring in support of their freshly released album, Open Wide, the Dublin band performed in Houston. Inhaler consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Elijah Hewson, bassist Robert Keating, guitarist Josh Jenkinson, and drummer Ryan McMahon. The band took the stage at the House of Blues on 17 March.
The anticipation was palpable as fans filled the venue, adorned with festive green attire and waving Irish flags. As the shared cultural pride between the band and the audience created an atmosphere that was both electric and intimate, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

Inhaler launched their set with the title track “Open Wide,” immediately captivating the crowd with their dynamic energy. Next, the band transitioned into “When It Breaks” and “Little Things,” the band’s synergy was evident, each member contributing to a cohesive sound that resonated throughout the venue.
A particularly memorable moment unfolded during the encore performance of “Dublin in Ecstasy“. Eli is notorious for venturing into the crowd for this song, handing the microphone to an attendee to sing the lyrics, “I only wanna speak if you have the time, I only wanna fight if it’s for your life,’ The fan’s nervous singing made the crowd fill with laughter and cheers, representing the band’s genuine connection with their audience.

The evening came to an end with “My Honest Face,” leaving the crowd in a state of euphoria. As the final chords played, it was clear that Inhaler’s live performance had transformed casual listeners into devoted fans.
After the show, I crossed paths with lead singer Elijah Hewson on my way back to the car. He stopped for photos and even signed a piece of merchandise I had just purchased. The live performance was amazing and I have not been able to stop listening to them since. I entered the venue as a casual listener and left as a devoted fan. Inhaler’s St. Patrick’s Day concert in Houston was more than just a show; it was a celebration of music and culture.
