The iconic neo-soul/Hip-Hop group NxWorries, consisting of Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge give Houston a night of grooving at the House of Blues.
In the music world, the production of a song is as important as the main vocalist. When a producer and artist duo form with musical chemistry out of this world, it is something you should tune in to. With their first album together released in 2016 and their second in 2024, the duo made up of Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge, NxWorries, set out on the road for their first-ever headlining tour together across the States.
NxWorries’ sound can be described as soulful, groovy, and fancy. Their most recent project came off the back of a very public divorce of vocalist Anderson .Paak, and you can hear a lot of him processing this relationship within the music. The duo ended up winning a Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album earlier this year. So, hearing the album live was a must.
For their Houston stop, the two played at the House of Blues’ main hall. This show was packed and had fans of all ages ready to see this groovy duo. To start off, Knxwledge took his place behind the DJ deck, and shortly after, Anderson .Paak stepped out in an all-black outfit with a stylish hat made of fur, making his outfit stand out.
Tracks like “ThankU,” “86Sentra,” and “Get Bigger” amped the crowd up. The night was full of fans swaying and reciting the lyrics back to .Paak. During his set, he greatly engaged the crowd, throwing roses to the ladies while dancing along. “Where are my day ones?!” said Anderson .Paak as he began to perform songs from their 2016 album Yes Lawd! such as “Lyk Dis” and “What More Can I Say.”
In the middle of the set, Knxwledge also got a time to shine. He performed a 15-minute DJ set with remixes of popular songs in his style of production that gave the songs new life. After his spotlight, Anderson. Paak stepped out with an outfit change that was like his previous one but just in all white.
To wrap up the night, the duo finished with songs “FromHere,” “Suede,” and “Daydreaming.” This album was one of my favorites last year, so seeing it live was a great experience. If you want a night full of heartbreaking lyrics but production that helps you soothe it, then this is a show you must see!
