LET’S PARTY: Thaiboy Digital brings Eurodance to Houston

Riding the momentum of the 2026 release, Thaiboy Digital (the beloved founder of the underground rap group named “Drain Gang”) turned the Downstairs of White Oak Music Hall into a European nightclub.

Back in the early 2010s, when emerging musical acts birthed from the internet were still a novelty, an experimental rap collective from Sweden attracted the eyes and ears of music fans everywhere. That collective, Drain Gang, has since grown into fundamental figures of the genre they helped pioneer: cloud rap. Songs decorated with European-accented rapping and bubbling synth lines over Atlanta-style trap beats became the signature trademark of this new sound. One of the founding members of this collective was Thailand-born and Stockholm-raised artist Thaiboy Digital.

Even though the group members are no longer the same teenagers rapping about heartbreaks and excess while living with their parents, their creative bond remains unbreakable. Now matured and raising families, the members of Drain Gang showcased that lifelong collaborative spirit on June 3, 2026, at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, Texas.

Known as the primary sound architect of Drain Gang, Swedish producer and artist Whitearmor opened the night with an eclectic DJ set. He began his performance with a vocal sample of slowcore pioneer Mark Kozelek mixed over an instrumental by disbanded punk group Title Fight, before smoothly transitioning through an operatic choir to Justin Bieber’s “As Long as You Love Me” and finally Kodak Black.

Heavy clouds of fog rolled across the stage while Whitearmor fearlessly shared his genre-bending taste with the crowd. As the tall figure draped in an oversized white hoodie exited stage left, ambient soundscapes continued to echo through the venue. The audience stood mesmerized by the empty stage, experiencing an atmosphere closer to a quiet gallery than a standard hip-hop show.

That meditative pause was brief. The hooded producer soon returned to his mixers, and what followed was a high-energy party. Opening tracks “Silk Road” and “True Love” were early highlights of Thaiboy Digital’s performance. Introducing himself to the Texas audience with heart-thumping dance tracks was a gamble that paid off. While he revisited fan-favorite Drain Gang collaborations like “2X” featuring Bladee, most of the setlist relied on heavy EDM rhythms that transformed the Houston concert venue into a European nightclub.

Moving through the crowd revealed an electric atmosphere. Fans in sweat-soaked rhinestone shirts pumped their fists to the beat, jumping rhythmically to the heavy bass lines. Eventually, the crowd got a brief breather midway through the set. Thaiboy Digital shifted to earlier, ambient cloud-rap tracks like “Van” and “Black Bottles,” giving both the performer and the audience a moment to reset from the intense initial pace.

Shortly after the mid-set pause, Thaiboy Digital stepped offstage briefly, returning without his denim jacket. Wearing a graphic tee, his alter-ego DJ BILLYBOOL took control of the stage. The concert reached its peak as his euro-trance tracks brought the crowd’s energy to another level. Sweat-drenched fans surged forward, with even concertgoers dressed in tailored suits joining the center of the dance floor.

Closing the night with a cover of “Side By Side” by fellow Drain Gang member Bladee, Thaiboy Digital proved how much he has evolved since his early teenage performances. Now married with children, the angst of his early career has transformed into pure stage presence and high-energy performance. Earlier in the set, his performance of the new track “Destiny” perfectly summarized his current creative direction. As booming venue speakers pushed an infectious beat over the jumping crowd, Thaiboy Digital danced across the stage, repeating a simple, unifying anthem: “Let’s party!”
