Bazaar on the Bayou at White Oak Music Hall

Event Photographed by Keylee Baque

After the rain postponed the event from June 6th to June 20th, we decided to take a stroll through one of Houston’s best outdoor markets called Bazaar on the Bayou.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic financially deprived a lot of small and up-coming businesses. With new restriction lifts in Texas, White Oak Music Hall opened up a new market opportunity for local vendors in the spring of 2021! This free event hosts over 75 local vendors and small businesses from the Houston area, where they each sell unique goods and services.  From handmade leather bags and jewelry to cricket snacks and homemade sauces, Bazaar on the Bayou is the perfect place to grab some cool stuff and support local businesses.

After visiting almost every booth, we noticed that every booth was completely unique from each other. Here are some of our favorites:

Just Essentials – An LGBTQ+ owned and operated hand crafted candle shop, where the candles are made with organic soy, beeswax, and essential oils.

Luna Metaphysical – A Texas-based crystal shop with a variety of energy stones and handmade jewelry.

Art by Butter – A local artist who sells uncommon artwork that consists of repurposed materials as well as mixed media abstract paintings.

**fun fact: Owner Craig Butterworth was a teacher and tennis coach during Keylee and Anthony’s high school years!**

Chago’s Chipotle – A mexican-inspired sauce that uniquely blends spicy, sweet and smoky flavors.
