Astralace is on the rise and there is no stopping them – they recently released their debut EP called Teeth, and have announced their headlining show at White Oak Music Hall.

Houston is known for its amazing local music scene and serves as the home to many great artists. Astralace is one of those artists, as they have been making their way down the scene – they’ve been featured on many local gig lineups and have been able to spread their music in many joyous ways. Now, they are headlining their own show at Houston’s White Oak Music Hall.

Earlier in 2021, the band released their first single “Apple Tree,” and remained their only song available for streaming. In 2022, they were able to record and release their debut EP called Teeth, a sweet collection of mellow jams. The EP starts off with “Work,” which first sounds ominous and immediately ascends to a catchy instrumental and strong backing vocals. Lead singer Ashley Lacy sings about the heavy feelings associated with work a 9-5 job, something all listeners can relate to. The song then flows into the strongest track in the EP – “The Pull” has a strong emphasis on Lacy’s vocals as well as the band’s musical uniformity by curating a gentle, poignant sound.

The following track is the title track “Teeth” has a soothing and intricate feel to it. The EP closes with “Rock, Paper, Scissors” – the perfect authentic close to their first EP debut. It has a much brighter sound than its predecessors, with the Lacy sing the heartfelt lyrics – “won’t you join me? Take my hand, say goodbye.” The EP has a nice musical flow, as it starts off with somber tunes and builds up to more ecstatic melodies. Each song on Teeth shows Astralace ability to sprinkle individuality in their music, something that is extremely prominent for local artists.

Astralace have appeared in numerous of showcases around Houston, and have also toured with fellow acts like Oh, Hooray.
