ROLE MODEL and Debbii Dawson stop in Houston for an electric sold-out show while on the No Place Like Tour tour.
Stepping out onto the stage first was Debbii Dawson in a sparking red two-piece. Not only did she stun the crowd with her outfit and flowing hair, but also with her powerful voice and kind energy. Singing songs such as “You Killed the Magic” and “The Great Magician,” Dawson showcased herself as an incredible artist on the rise.

Closing out the night was Tucker Pillsbury, who’s typically known as ROLE MODEL, but jokingly introduced himself as Ed Sheeran. Right from the second he took the stage, you could feel a shift in the energy from the whole venue. A calm and collected space suddenly turned into an electric and exciting atmosphere. As the crowd yelled and cheered for the singer, “Writing’s on the Wall” promptly began.

With most of the songs on the setlist being from his newest album, Kansas Anymore, the crowd sand their hearts out to each and every song. From, “Frances” to “Superglue” and “Look at that Woman,” the voices of ROLE MODEL and the audience blended seamlessly together from the beginning to end. But out of all of the songs performed, a standout was definitely, “The Longest Goodbye,” which has a special ode to the city right in the first verse. Once the song began, everyone was ready to scream the special lyric: “Now you’re changing and moving, I’ll take my ass to Houston.”

It was an extremely energetic night that no one wanted to end. There was constant interaction between the singer and the audience, as they made jokes to each other, there was nonstop dancing and there was incredible music. If you have the chance to catch ROLE MODEL on tour, I highly recommend it. It will be an unforgettable night that will leave you with post-concert depression as soon as you leave the venue.

I am from Houston, Texas and currently attending the University of Houston as a marketing major! From attending concerts, playing guitar, and collecting vinyl, I love anything that has to do with music. Some of my favorite artists include The Strokes, Omar Apollo, and boygenius. Besides that, I really like shopping, watching Pitch Perfect, and discovering new places in Houston!
