Hunter Hayes Lights Up House of Blues in Anaheim During The Red Sky Tour

Hunter Hayes performs at the House of Blues in Anaheim for his current national tour with opener, Sam Derosa.

Hunter Hayes stopped by Anaheim, California during his nationwide tour to perform for die hard fans at the House of Blues. Starting off the show was opener, Sam Derosa. Sam is a singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. She serenaded the HOB audience with an acoustic set accompanied by her guitarist, Jordan Sherman. She performed songs from her latest EP, The Good Parts, which features songs about heartbreaks and breakups including a fun single called “Friends with my Exes” where she asked the audience to sing along “even if you are friends with your exes.” A few years ago, Sam appeared on the NBC series, Songland, where she pitched and performed an original song of hers to a panel of artists and producers, including former classmate, Charlie Puth. She performed her single from the show, titled “Pill for This,” and spoke about her experience on the TV series. An accomplished songwriter, Sam has written for artists such as Lukas Graham, Dixie D’Amelio, and lovelytheband and ended her set with a medley performance of covers of songs she wrote for other artists.

After a brief intermission, Hunter Hayes took the stage, immediately performing fan favorites and some of his top hits. It was clear that OG fans of his were in the crowd with how they sang along. His current tour followed the release of his newest album, Red Sky, which is his first ever fully independent album which he had been working on for a couple of years now. He released this album early February, and about a month later, headed off to start hips tour. He talked to his fans a bit about how excited he was for this album to be out and that he would be performing every song from it throughout the show. Within his set, Hunter shared the stage twice and duetted with his opening performer, Sam DeRosa, as well as singer and songwriter, Matty Gottesman.
