Blu DeTiger Plays an Electric Show at The Observatory

Blu DeTiger stopped by Santa Ana while traveling throughout the states for her “Blu DeTour” and brought special guests, Tiffany Day and Ryan Woods.

Hailing from New York City, American singer and songwriter, Blu DeTiger, came to Southern California during her Blu DeTour and performed an electrifying show at The Observatory. The concert started off super strong with two insanely talented openers. LA based Indie artist, Ryan Woods, took the stage with his band and performed a short but memorable set of his current discography. He gave a shout out to Hope Unite, a mental health organization that he’s been partnering with and encouraged fans to get gift bags from the merch table to support it. He mentioned how mental health is a significant topic of importance for him and how he incorporates it into his music. He then ended his set with fan favorite, “Bad Texter,” from his album, King of the Basement, which has currently gained over 19 million streams on Spotify. After his performance Ryan headed to the merch table to meet with fans for the remainder of the show.

Next up on stage was the second opener of the night, Tiffany Day. The pop artist first found popularity a couple years ago while posting covers on YouTube. She also went viral on the internet after a video of her singing a cover of “Hallelujah” into a well surfaced. Since then Tiffany has gained a significant fan base and has continued to work on her career and her music. Accompanied by her drummer, Ross Murakami, Tiffany played a fun and energetic set including hits such as “If I Don’t Text You First,” “Calone,” and her newest single “Dreams About Optimism.” The crowd was hyped as fans sang along to her music. Throughout her performance Tiffany took some time to speak to the audience about her life and her journey making music including breakups, health, and the struggle of being an independent musician. She performed an unreleased single that was about her ex who ended their relationship during her last headliner tour, making sure to include some shady lyrics, much to the enjoyment of the audience.

Next up was the main act of the night. Blu DeTiger entered the stage accompanied by her brother, Rex, on drums and her guitarist, Horace. Blu first went viral after playing bass covers on Tiktok. She released her EP, How Did We Get Here?, last year and has since released multiple singles. Some songs from her set included “Elevator,” “Cotton Candy Lemonade,” and “Figure It Out” which also found popularity on Tiktok. Along with her own songs she performed a cover medley with her band. At one point of the show she asked the audience if there was anyone who played bass, and selected a fan to join her onstage. She handed her a bass and the two had a short but fun jam session with her band. Blu and her band continued playing a great set. She commented on how great the venue was, including an elevated platform bordering the stage which made a great walkway for all the artists of the night to use while they performed. After the show, at the requests of the audience, the Blu DeTiger and her band ended the night with a showstopping encore.
