Sad Summer Fest Is Right Around the Corner: Are you Ready?

Sad Summer Festival (presented by Journeys) starts on July 8th and has a stacked lineup full of your fave pop-punk acts such as State Champs and Hot Mulligan.

Sad Summer Fest has been (unofficially) dubbed the new Vans Warped Tour, since the legendary cross-country festival ended in 2018. TSSF officially began in 2019 that featured acts like The Maine and Forever the Sickest Kids. The environment was absolutely impeccable, as the crowds was full of excitement. It was obvious that the festival would become an instant classic and that it would become an annual thing – until the pandemic struck.

The 2020 lineup was thriving, but was ultimately cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus. Once live music was making its return, Sad Summer sought the chance to do the same and did a shorter-run summer tour in August 2021 with acts like All Time Low and the Story So Far. The festival made its solemn return, and it was better than ever – Sad Summer Fest showed that they are here to stay. They announced their 2022 lineup earlier this year, with an even more shocking lineup that featured artists like the Summer Set (who’ve recently emerged from hiatus) and Waterparks. If you are looking for a place to crowdsurf or mosh, we definitely recommend buying a ticket for the closest city/date near you.

While the festival has its own official playlist on Spotify, we came up with our own picks of underrated songs you need to know before attending the festival. Prep with Off Record Blog and check out our latest playlist!

I currently live in Dallas, TX and work as a content creator. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2021 with a degree in Radio, Television, and Film. My top three artists are The 1975, Hippo Campus, and Fall Out Boy. In my free time I love to take photos, listen to music, and explore the city with my friends!
