Funk rock band Incubus sells out The Pavilion at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving with support from Coheed and Cambria.
California rock band Incubus had their 7th stop on their small, 10-day tour celebrating their new/re-recorded album released on May 9th titled Morning View XXIII. In 2001, the band rented a cabin to create and to truly experiment with their music. From that, came their original Morning View album. With this album holding a special place in the band’s hearts, they decided to re-record it this past year and take it on tour once again and this time in its entirety.
Incubus played Morning View XXIII from start to finish, along with a few other fan favorites. Incubus has a great energy when it comes to performing and made the fans love the experience even more. With soulful jazz vibes mixed with the rock medium, Incubus has created a discography like no other. When putting it into their live performances, their fans can feel the soul that was put behind the music in real-time.
Incubus was formed in 1991 at Calabasas High School by lead singer Brandon Boyd, guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer Jose Pasillas. They later added on basis Alex Katunich and DJ Gavin Koppel. The band still includes Brandon, Mike, and Jose, but has brought on DJ Kilmore and Nicole Row, who came on with the band earlier this year. Even though the band had released two albums in both 1995, Fungus Amonus, and 1997, S.C.I.E.N.C.E., the band gained popularity in 1999 with their album, Make Yourself.
Their most popular song, “Drive,” helped to boost their popularity and brought in fans. With 8 studio albums and 5 EPs in the last 33 years, the band is very pleased with their work. And the die-hard fans were very excited when Morning View XXIII came out to cherish in a new way. To sum up, Incubus clearly loves not only the work that they produce for their fans, but the fans themselves. The band shows this love through both their music and their live performances.
