The Black Keys visited White Oak Music Hall on July 24 with support from Eddie 9V on their Peaches ‘n Kream World Tour.
Hailing from Akron, Ohio, The Black Keys are a rock duo which formed in 2001. The band has 14 studio albums, with the newest addition Peaches! being released in May of this year. The Black Keys commenced their world tour back in April, and stopped in Houston on July 24 for a killer show on the lawn at White Oak Music Hall with Eddie 9V.
Eddie 9V was greeted with applause and enthusiasm from the audience as soon as he graced the stage. From Atlanta, Georgia, the blues rock singer has put out four studio albums and has a fifth on the way. His fifth record Down Here is set to release on November 6, 2026. He performed “Blowin’ Up”, the lead single from the upcoming album, as well as many other incredible tracks. His performance was jam-packed with loud organ chords and catchy bass lines. He had great chemistry with his bandmates on stage, and was entertaining to watch.
The Black Keys opened their set with “Next Girl”, from their 2010 record Brothers. With lights flashing and the band grooving, the vibe on stage was terrific from the beginning. Singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney fronted the stage, while their backing band energetically performed from behind. Barrie Cadogan, their guitarist, stepped forward during solos and blew the crowd away with his impressive technique.
Everything about The Black Keys’ performance was mind blowing. They played many of their biggest hits, including “Lo/Hi”, “Tighten Up” and “Gold on the Ceiling”. The band also performed three tracks from their newest record Peaches! including “Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire”, “She Does It Right” and “You Got to Lose”. After an amazing evening of non-stop blues rock, The Black Keys concluded their set with their biggest hit “Lonely Boy”. The Black Keys will continue their Peaches ‘n Kream World Tour until mid-October, with their last stop reaching Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
