A sold out night in Chicago celebrates the “Three Cheers for 20 Years” tour with Mayday Parade and support from Like Roses, Grayscale, and Microwave.
At the Salt Shed in Chicago, fans make their way inside to enjoy an incredible night of the North American tour celebration of Mayday Parade’s 20-year milestone. The show is completely sold out, filled with fans of all ages to endure the band’s iconic hits and newer releases.
This tour sets off with a set from Like Roses as the first opener, not too long after Grayscale hits the stage with a headbanging set; these sets follow up with Microwave, whose stage design was set up with incredible mushrooms around the stage that reflected a trippy like vibe to the show right before Mayday Parade made their final entrance.











The floor of the Salt Shed was completely packed by the end of the last opener, fans awaited what was to come next when the stage set was being rearranged for their grand opening. There was an amazing introduction that displayed on the screens of Mayday Parade getting interviewed when they were way younger, leading up to the band making their way to the stage. Over the last 20 years, Mayday Parade have been recording and touring around the world, and they have developed a passionate following internationally due to their transparency, energetic performances, and the quality of their songwriting.






Mayday Parade formed in Tallahassee, Florida in 2004, and they quickly became one of the more notable artists of the growing emo and pop-punk scene in the mid 2000s. Their debut full-length album, A Lesson in Romantics, released in 2007, that really propelled their career. “Miserable at Best” and “Jamie All Over” were instant hits that struck a chord within the fan base and really helped define an era of the emo and pop-punk music scene while establishing their brand of emotional lyrics and catchy choruses.
Mayday Parade performed iconic hits like “Jersey”, “i’d Hate to Be You When People Find Out What This Song is About” and an honorable mention: “Miserable at Best” which was an intimate performance that was on the piano with rain like visuals streaming down to the song and fans singing word for word of the song which felt extremely nostalgic and wholesome to day one fans who have been around for so long.
Throughout the night, they created a memorable and very special moment for fans and the band to reminisce. Fans experience a night full of confetti, smoke like visuals, and bold contrasting set design to create a wholesome show to celebrate this honorable night in Chicago.
