Snail Mail Brings Her Achingly Sweet Album ‘Ricochet’ to Houston

Alternative artist Snail Mail brought a live performance of her beautiful 2026 album, Ricochet, to Houston’s White Oak Music Hall.

Alternative rock band Snail Mail brought her 2026 North American tour to Houston, performing for dedicated fans inside White Oak Music Hall. After gaining popularity with her 2016 EP Habit, Lindsey Jordan delivered her critically acclaimed 2018 album Lush, featuring fan-favorite tracks full of yearning like “Pristine.” Jordan followed with a laid-back sound on 2021’s Valentine. Five years later, she brought her newest music to Texas with the release of Ricochet.

Kai Slater, lead singer of opening band Sharp Pins, began the night with an intimate solo acoustic performance. Planted onstage, he delivered a quiet set before his full band joined him to shake the room with an energetic three-piece rock set. Slater moved dynamically across the stage, guitar in hand, after finishing every song, and the audience returned that energy. Soon after, concertgoers kept their eyes glued to the stage, waiting for the main act.

Snail Mail gathered on a stage decorated with a white picket fence and house background, opening the set with the bittersweet new track “Tractor Beam.” As the night continued, a playful pattern of crowd chants emerged. Between songs, various audience members called out “LINDSEY JORDAN” in a monotone voice.

The performance of “Dead End” served as a set highlight, as the booming drum intro sent the crowd into a frenzy of swaying. Alongside the catchy instrumental, Jordan’s vocals elevated the song through her visceral falsetto. During a break, the Maryland native joked that Texas is warm, but White Oak Music Hall is cool. Her joke was met with laughter and sporadic crowd chants.

The performance of the grunge track “Agony Freak” showcased Jordan’s vocal ability, as her notes complemented the heavy guitar riffs. Snail Mail closed the concert with fan-favorite “Pristine,” and the audience joined Jordan’s voice as one. Every line of the lyrics was echoed by the crowd dancing to the song’s infectious groove. As the song ended, a collective yell of the final line, “Same!”, concluded the performance. The band waved, and fans exited into the night, though chants of “LINDSEY JORDAN” continued out on the street.
