Milwaukee Punk Band Scam Likely Sells out Show for Album Release

Milwaukee based band, Scam Likely plays a sold out show at The Back Rooms at Colectivo for the release of their first studio album.

Opening the night, “garage rock / power pop” Diet Lite takes the stage amplifying the crowd with the band’s electric energy. “This is the second time a local band has sold out The Back Room for an album release show in recent months,” Drummer, Evan Marsalli said. “I think it shows how strong the scene has become in Milwaukee.” Last April, Scam Likely played their first ever show with Diet Lite. “We have seen them come such a long way in such a short period of time,” The band said. “I think this will force people to really pay attention to what’s going on in the underground music scene.”

Next on the lineup from Chicago, IL, “cry-core” indie rock band Scarlet Demore adds onto the intense spirit of the crowd. Not only was this show a huge milestone for Scam Likely, but also for Scarlet Demore. Joel Smith, live guitarist for the band, was made official into Scarlet Demore after the show. “We’ll be taking some more trips out of state in the near future and have talked about getting the ball rolling on some new music!” The band said. “It’s gonna be a very busy year for us and we’re really excited!”

Lastly taking the stage, Scam Likely performs for their first studio album release, “Getting Worse” featuring crowd pleasers “Sushi at Gunpoint”, “Domestic Bliss” and “Watch your Step.” “Knowing you’re going to play in front of a crowd that supported us on our journey, and is a lot less stressful than not knowing if we’re gonna have a crowd,” guitarist “Ducky” Dondiego said. “Seeing people connect with something we made is always so cool.” In the near future, the fast growing band hopes to see bigger stages, tours and even festivals as well as expanding their DIY basement space, “The Washroom.”
