On December 12th, Dallas-based Latinx Band Luna Luna played an unforgettable headlining show at one of Austin’s favorite venues with special guests Esteromance and BOYO.

Luna Luna is a Latinx indie-pop group based out of Dallas Texas. This four member group got their start after Danny Bonilla (keys and backup vocals) saw Kevin Gonzalez (lead vocals) perform at an open mic night back in 2017. The pair joined musical forces and quickly brought on Kaylin Matinez (drums), Daniel Muentes (guitar), and Ryan Gordon (bass) to form Luna Luna. The group made lasting impressions at their local shows in Dallas, in which they quickly garnered a growing fanbase and a contract with the music label Cosmica Artists. Their 2020 debut album Flower Moon catapulted the group’s success in the indie music scene including their single “Commitment,” which has gone viral on TikTok.

This week, Luna Luna treated their Austin fans with an unforgettable performance at the Empire Control Room & Garage along with openers Estereomance and BOYO. The group has been on tour since November, closing out in Texas. These Texas-natives were greeted with a sold out show full of adoring fans. Fans were also excited to hear the announcement by the band that Austin is now their new home. Luna Luna’s electric performance from start to finish was reciprocated by their fans as the room sang and danced the night away with hands up and phones out. Not only does Luna Luna captivate their audience with the unique blend of latin, R&B-pop, and retro doo-wop vibes, they know how to work the stage and put on a incredible performance.

Estereomance opened up the highly anticipated show with a bang on Sunday night. With members residing both in El Paso, TX and Juarez, Chihuahua, Estereomance has dubbed themselves the “Borderland Babies”. The bilingual group formed in 2019 and are now signed to the label Cosmica Artists. Estereomance showcased their incredible new EP What Do You Want It To Be? a seven track album released in November. The latinx soul-pop group Estereomace left it all on the stage with melodic synths, heavy bass rhythms, and impressive vocals. The crowd was dancing from the first note heard.

The Los Angeles based band, BOYO kept the show going without skipping a beat. The group formed in 2016 and have since released several albums and singles including their 2020 album Alone Together In Los Angeles. The crowd was swooning and swaying to BOYO’s hazy synth ballads and dancing to their upbeat indie surf-pop.
