Michigan native rap star, BabyTron, stops in Dallas, Texas on his North American tour accompanied by Certified Trapper, DSM and Babyfxce.
To start off the night at The Echo Lounge and Music Hall in Dallas, openers Certified Trapper, DSM, and Babyfxce get the crowd ready for a high-energy night of rap and rhythm. The crowd gets together to mosh as Certified Trapper performs his newest viral song “Oi (Beat Da Koto Nai)” as BabyTron and the rest of the Shitty Boyz rap group prepare to perform for the night. As the lights start to dim and smoke fills the air, fans chant “Babytron” as they wait for their headliner to make his appearance.
James Johnson, professionally known as BabyTron, made a name for himself after releasing viral song “Jesus Shuttlesworth” in 2019. Since then, the artist has been releasing rap songs collabing with bigger artists such as G Herbo, BLP Kosher and Lil Yatchy. In 2023, BabyTron released his most recent album titled MegaTron 2 and is now on a North American tour with his group, Shitty Boyz. TrDee, StanWill and BabyTron mix their freestyle rap talent over electronic and high-energy beats.
As BabyTron finally makes an appearance, the fans let out the excitement built up by the openers and lively energy in the venue. From the very first track, Babytron showcased a seamless blend of pulsating basslines, intricate melodies, and mind-bending rhythm. With the fans explosive with elation, they let out their energy by opening up multiple pits and coming together to mosh to the upbeat and vivacious beats. The versatility showcased by BabyTron kept the audience on their toes, never quite knowing what sonic landscape would unfold next. As BabyTron provides the audience with one final encore, the fans were left with a night to remember (and maybe a few new friends that they moshed with too).
With over a dozen shows left on BabyTron’s North American tour in collaboration with Rolling Loud, cities like Detroit, Philadelphia, and Boston have a night of rap, relaxation, and rapture coming their way.
I am currently attending the University of North Texas with a photojournalism major. I love going to concerts of all genres, whether I am stage diving or headbanging, I never miss an opportunity to appreciate live music. In my free time, I enjoy thrifting for CD's and records, spending time with my cats, going to art exhibits, and traveling (especially to NYC). My biggest inspiration is Danny Clinch, and one day I aspire to open up my own gallery to showcase my work!
