About Us

Off Record Blog is a digital publication that praises all creatives in the realms of entertainment and music. Through our content, we aim to engage with readers while recognizing the underrepresented side of music and creative efforts that keep the media world alive.

Who is Off Record Blog?

Off Record is a growing independent publication and content platform that depends on readers and contributors to direct the content. Throughout time, additional features, such as live show reviews and photo galleries, will be added for a more interactive and enjoyable experience. Off Record’s main goal is to give a platform to growing creatives and making sure everyone feels encouraged to get involved.

This isn’t just another website or publication. It brings completely new stories, perspectives, and groundbreaking dynamics.

History

Founders Keylee Paz and Emily Martinez were roommates who attended the University of Texas at Austin. The idea of “Off Record” started off with a long-distance phone call during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they each stated their plans after graduation. They wanted to find their own way to contribute to the media, and decided to team up and blend their ideas together to start an independent digital publication. They realized that most publications didn’t apply the idea of “growing creatives” and only focused on creatives who were already established. After much discussion and planning with Keylee’s longtime friend Anthony Ciocco, Off Record Blog was born.

OFF RECORD refers to the terms “Off The Record,” meaning things that are not publicly reported or kept from the public. Our publication is an effort to shed more light on the local music scenes (wide-range concerts to smaller showcases) all over Texas and speak about the lesser-known creatives/blocks of the entertainment industry.
