A Soulful Night of Serenity at Daniel Caesar’s SUPERPOWERS Tour

On September 14th the Canadian singer, Daniel Caesar brought the second leg of his SUPERPOWERS WORLD TOUR to Dallas at the South Side Ballroom.

For time around the singer is going to be joined by different artists throughout the tour such as Omar Apollo, Montell Fish, Flying Lotus, Moses Sumney, Charlotte Day Wilson, BADBADNOTGOOD, and Orion Sun (who made her appearance in Dallas).

To start off the night, Orion Sun gave the audience a vocally stunning performance, playing songs off her 2020 albums, “A Collection of Fleeting Moments and Daydreams” and “Hold Space For Me” along with tracks from her most recent released EP “Getaway.” Fans in the first row caught Orion’s attention as they were enthusiastically singing back to her word for word during the fan favorite “Dirty Dancer”. It was evident the love and admiration this crowd had for Orion by the number of fans singing along and gifts that were given to her on stage.

For the opening song “Ocho Rios”, Daniel appeared in an angelic enclosed wall of sheer fabric. The Jamaican inspired track beautifully echoed throughout the venue and had the audience swaying and in thralled by the catchy lyrics. The second track, “Let Me Go” showcased the velvety richness of Daniels voice.

After his first couple of tracks, the sheer barrier gracefully fell to the floor exposing Daniel Caesar to the crowd for the first time. As smoke filled the stage and lights brightly shined, he had a camera man following his every move showcasing the footage in the background for a better and more intimate look at Daniels performance for every member in the audience.

For the encore, we got an acoustic cover of “Creep” by RADIOHEAD that Daniel played not on stage but backstage with just his voice and guitar. The camera man framed this scene close for the intimate experience. It felt as though every member in the crowd had their hand up with their phone recording this unique and special moment.
