Yellowcard stopped by Stubb’s in Austin, TX on July 26 during their tour celebrating 20 years of Ocean Avenue just a few days after the 20th anniversary the album’s release.
The emo legends reunited last fall for their first show since announcing a hiatus in 2017. During the show, lead singer, Ryan Key took time to thank the fans for making them feel at home since their reunion and expressed that he never thought the band would tour again.
At the show, Yellowcard opened their set with “Way Away” and “Breathing.” In addition to playing songs off Ocean Avenue, Yellowcard played the title track off their newest EP, Childhood Eyes. The EP features a few familiar names in the scene–Chris Carraba of Dashboard Confessional and Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil. After a brief encore, Yellowcard closed the show with “Only One” and “Ocean Avenue.”
Emo Night Brooklyn had the crowd hyped between sets playing Myspace hits like Misery Business,” “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” and “I’m Not Okay.” This Wild Life opened the show with what lead singer, Kevin Jordan, described as “prescription strength emotional music.” The Long Beach-based acoustic duo played crowd favorites like “Catie Rae,” “If It’s Cool With You, I’m Cool With Being Through,” and covered “I Miss You” by Blink-182.
