Wolf Alice embarked on their last stop of the first leg of their North American Tour in Houston, Texas at the House of Blues in support of the recent album Blue Weekend on April 16th, 2022.
The band’s opener Charlie Hickey, an artist who recently signed to Phoebe Bridgers’ record label called Saddest Factory, dazzled fans with a remarkable set on his acoustic guitar, which included some of his unreleased songs. His interaction with fans and joking about his middle school days along with his excitement of touring with Wolf Alice. His debut album Nervous at Night is set to release on May 20th, 2022.
The anticipation and high energy levels waiting for Wolf Alice to start their set was through the roof. The band opened their set with their new single “Smile,” which is filled with raging guitars, heavy bass, and smashing drums. This was the perfect lively and thrilling track to begin their set. Another track that enthralled fans was “Greatest Hits.” This caused a massive uproar with fans jumping and shouting the lyrics. The track is filled with fast paced guitars and drums with catchy lyrics. A perfect song that makes you feel as if you’re a rock star. Later on in the set, frontwoman Ellie Rowsell sat near the front of the stage and performed “No Hard Feelings” serenading the crowd with her luscious vocals. This sweet interaction with fans made them swoon and hold up lights and hearts. The closer of their set “Don’t Delete The Kisses” was the ultimate crowd favorite. The fans all shouted back the lyrics creating one of the most memorable and exciting experiences as if you were in a stadium. As the set finished, Rowsell stated her compassion and love for the fans with a heartfelt message.
