Wallice performs at Santa Ana’s Constellation Room with support from Nitefire.
Up and coming indie artist, Wallice, performed a stellar show at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana to adoring fans. After having to reschedule due to sickness, fans were happy to finally see Wallice perform live.
Opening the show was Los Angeles based indie band, Nitefire. The group is composed of frontman, Nico, on vocals and guitar, Luke on bass, Christian on guitar, and Noah on drums.
The band performed their original music and made for a rocking opening act. They gave a shout out to their relatives and girlfriends who were in the audience to support the boys. Their unique and eclectic performance included the frontman, Nico, jumping into the crowd multiple times, making sure to take the mic stand with him, further immersing the crowd into the bands’ performance. After a fanatical instrumental, the group ended their set with Nico jumping off of an amp while simultaneously playing the guitar.
After a brief intermission, the act of the night made their way to the stage as Wallice started her set full of hit singles. She performed songs from her newest EP, Mr. Bigshot, as well as other pieces from her no skip discography. Some highlights of her show included the artist showing the crowd a Sonny Angel she brought with her. Later on she opened a brand new doll on stage that was gifted to her by an audience member. While performing her single, “John Wayne,” Wallice borrowed an audience member’s cowboy hat to wear during the performance. Her band followed along and put on cowboy hats of their own, fully getting into the western aesthetic, which is prominent in Wallice’s styling and creative direction.
Wallice performed songs from her hit debut EP, Off the Rails, including the closing single, “Headache,” where she encouraged audience members to let out all their frustrations and scream during the chorus, pointing the mic towards them each time. She performed more fan favorites such as “Punching Bag” and her most streamed single, “23,” with fans shouting along to the lyrics. Near the end of her set, Wallice invited Nico, from Nitefire, on stage to sing a duet and play guitar alongside her.
Wallice’s concert and live performance really immerses her audience into the nostalgia and emotional frustrations of being a young adult. With her fans being mainly of that demographic, her sound and style resonate perfectly with them.
