Underground Springhouse played an electric show at the Georgia Theater down in Athens, Georgia this past Tuesday.
On Tuesday the 14th, Supper Club and Underground Springhouse rocked the house down for a special Valentine’s Day show. Many Athens locals and fan favorites of the band crowded the Georgia Theater’s stage to celebrate the holiday.
The opening act was Supper Club – they is from Auburn, Alabama, but has become an Athens favorite over the past couple of months. The band labels itself as an indie rock and folk band. The four-man band is currently touring around the southeast. Their next show will be down in Texas at the Ice House On Main. They kicked off the night around 7:30 pm by playing some of their most popular songs, “Tell Me Why,” “Naked Gold,” and “Wichita.”
Underground Springhouse came on around 9:00 pm and the crowd quickly rushed to the stage. The band played their beloved hits, such as “Mashed Potatoes,” “Float the Time Away,” and “Julian.” The crowd went wild and the band crushed their set. The night went on strong until just after 11:00 pm.
The band got their start right here in Athens, Georgia a few years back. Their debut single, “Joyfell,” released back in 2018, quickly caught the attention of audiences. People gravitated towards this band which succeeds at blending multiple different genres under one smooth-sounding score. When sitting down with the lead vocalist, Charlie, he stated that the band, “…always has a hard time defining their music because they kind of jump around a lot. I’d say it’s all rock centered, but with little bits of funk, reggae, and even a little of country or bluegrass.”
Underground Springhouse is currently on the road for their winter tour with shows all around the United States. They are currently working on an EP which should be out in the next couple of months, which will most certainly be another great hit.
