Turnover continues to celebrate the decade anniversary of their stand out album Peripheral Vision by bringing the tour to a stop at Houston’s House of Blues.
May 4th of this year marks the ten year anniversary of Turnover’s second LP Peripheral Vision. PV was arguably the album that defined and set the classic Turnover sound that fans know and love today. Initially the band only announced a few dates in celebration of this decade old anniversary but fans far and wide made it known that a full tour wasn’t just a want but a need.
Kicking off the night was Horse Jumper of Love, a slowcore band from Massachusetts that packed a punch. With just a quick thirty minute set, the band captivated the audience with many songs of their album Disaster Trick that was released last year, making sure to thank everyone for coming out early to check out their set.
Next up was no stranger to the scene, Balance and Composure. The crossover between fans of Balance and Composure and Turnover fans is almost a complete circle so seeing these two bands in the same night was a dream come true for many. It has been nearly eight years since the band has graced a stage in Houston, so the energy in the room from their fans was palpable. The band played a stacked set full of songs fron their classic album The Things We Think We’re Missing as well as newer tunes from the 2024 latest, with you in spirit. The band made it known how much they appreciated their fans for sticking with them so long.

After a quick set change it was time for the main attraction, Turnover.
The lights went down as the band took the stage and immediately went into the opening track of Peripheral Vision, “Cutting My Fingers Off.” The band continued to play the entirety of the album in order, front to back, to a packed house where everyone seemed to know every single word to this staple of an album.
Turnover did not simply play the album in full and call it a night, they treated Houston to a six song encore containing a few new songs as well as a couple from their albums Super Natural and Myself In The Way. Hopefully the new songs are an indicator of a brand new Turnover album in the near future, as the band does not seem to be taking it slow any time soon.
Anniversary tours might simply seem like an easy cash grab to some, but for die hard fans of bands like Turnover, it is a way to come together with a room full of friends and strangers alike and connect through the power of music. Peripheral Vision is a pinnacle album that will continue to be on repeat for many more years to come from both new and old fans of the band. Each song delves deeply into mental health and navigating through complicated relationships; many issues that nearly everyone can relate to.

Do not miss a night of nostalgia and great music if this tour is coming through your town.
