Tropicália’s Besame Mucho Festival Heads to Austin this March

After setting shop in Los Angeles for the past two years, the popular latin festival makes its way down to Austin’s Circuit of the Americas on March 2nd.

Besame Mucho has become a staple in the music world, as it brings the world’s hottest latin acts of all different genres to a single festival. The inaugural festival was held at Dodger Stadium in 2022, following the halt of music festivals due to the pandemic. The lineup shocked the world, as it featured a blend of classic rockero and latin pop. The festival sold-out quickly, and it would soon become an annual Los Angeles event that would bring together the local Latinx community. Besame Mucho did so well in Los Angeles, so well in fact, that it will now be making its way to Austin, Texas, the live music capital of the world and home to other festivals like Two Step Inn, Austin City Limits and South by Southwest. The lineup is divided into four stages, and featuring popular latin acts like Los Tigres del Norte, Banda MS, Caifanes and Gloria Trevi.

The Norteño genre is popping this year, as it features bands like Grupo Frontera, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and Banda El Recodo – all very well-known for having regional Mexican hits. The Banda genre is also booming with a star-studded lineup such as the popular Banda Machos and La Adicitiva.

Rockero / Rock en Español is a history-making genre amongst the latin world, and this lineup includes all of the legends such as Caifanes, Cafe Tacvba, Enanitos Verdes, and Hombres G. Each of these bands will be touring this spring and will be kicking off their tours through Besame Mucho, an exiting time for Austin. The lineup also includes underdogs Kinky, a Mexican rock band who formed as part of the Avanzada Regia musical movement in the 90s.

The best part of the lineup would be the latin-pop acts set to perform, which include the return of Mexican pop superstars Belanova, known for their hits like “Rose Pastel” and “Baila Mi Corazon.” Pop legends like Gloria Trevi, Alejandra Guzman and Reik are also set to perform, along with historic acts like Amistades Peligrosas, Danna Paola, and Elvis Crespo (from Grupo Mania). The pop stage also includes Venezuelan newcomer Elena Rose, who has worked with mega acts like Rauw Alejandro, Becky G, Tainy, and CNCO.

This star-studded lineup is one you do not want to miss, and will serve as a great Latinx celebration the week before South by Southwest takes over the city. Besame Mucho is currently SOLD-OUT, but you can sign up for the ticket waitlist here. The festival will take place at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas on March 2nd and will feature sponsors like Beatbox, Camaronazo, Corona, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Mineragua and many more.
