LEVITATION returns this Halloween weekend from October 31st to November 3rd, 2024, highlighting the best acts in psychedelic, electronic, indie, and metal. Let’s celebrate the revival of shoegaze legends and the exciting new acts to look forward to at LEVITATION.
julie
With the release of their highly anticipated and critically acclaimed debut album, My Anti-Aircraft Friend, Julie is making heads spin with their unique blend of noise rock and post-punk, featuring distinctive vocals. Check them out on the first night of LEVITATION at their Halloween show, alongside Frost Children and Her Knife.
Swirlies
Hailing from Boston, Swirlires is a staple for 90s shoegaze lovers. Their sound offers a unique blend of both male and female vocals creating an auditory experience like no other. Swirlies are making their return to Austin on Friday November 1st at Parish venue.
Trauma Ray
Fort Worth nu-gaze rockers Trauma Ray are set to share the stage on November 1st at Parish with Swirlies and Witches Exist. The band will be releasing their debut album, “Chameleon”, on Dais Records on October 25th. This is a show not to be missed for fans who enjoy a heavier and heavily blended style of shoegaze.
Alison’s Halo
Arizona shoegaze royalty Alison’s Halo will hit the stage alongside Wisp and Pachinko on November 2nd at Stubb’s. Despite having only one album in their discography, 1998’s Eyedazzler, the dreamy rockers are making their way to Austin for a night of ethereal vocals and space-like music for all music lovers to enjoy.
Wisp
20-year-old shoegaze sensation Wisp will be co-headlining the stage with Pachinko and Alison’s Halo on November 2nd at Stubb’s. Fresh off the release of Pandora earlier this year, Wisp has garnered a cult-like following with their nu-gaze blend of shoegaze, catchy hooks, and heavy atmospheric sounds. This is a must watch for fans of the new age shoegaze revival.
GLARE
Texas shoegaze is in full swing at LEVITATION, but no other band in the local scene is making waves quite like Glare. Fresh off their latest single Mourning Haze, this shoegaze band will captivate you, spinning your head with their swirling guitars and dreamy vocals. See them on Sunday November 3rd at The Far Out Lounge.
Drop Nineteens
Drop Nineteens will grace The Far Out Lounge on Sunday, November 3rd. Following their highly anticipated 2023 record Hard Light, this band’s comeback is a testament to how truly captivating they are as musicians. Their 1992 shoegaze masterpiece Delaware remains highly acclaimed within the genre, and fans are in for a treat with their highly anticipated live performance.
Slowdive
Shoegaze giants Slowdive will make their Levitation comeback on Sunday, November 3rd, closing out The Far Out Lounge. Slowdive is the band that comes to mind when we think of ’90s shoegaze, especially with their magnum opus Souvlaki, released in 1994. Their music has been featured in films like Gregg Araki’s Mysterious Skin and has defined a generation of shoegaze, influencing every band on this lineup. Following their latest release, everything is alive, via Dead Oceans, this show is a must-see for any music fan and lover of the genre.
