Thủy Takes Off on The Wings World Tour in Dallas

Following the release of her newest album, thủy throws an upbeat performance in Dallas is the first of three shows in Texas on her Wings Tour.

Vietnamese American singer-songwriter thủy took the stage in Dallas in large fur boots, a staple of her revolving tour outfits. Thủy rose to fame with her sophomore EP release, girls like me don’t cry, in which the title track went viral on TikTok. In April 2024, thủy made a historical debut at Coachella as the festival’s first Vietnamese American artist to be featured. Supporting her latest album wings, thủy’s world tour is an energetic and heartfelt testament to her strides as a self-made artist.

Opener ASTN began the night with his chill R&B songs. He performed his latest release “Am I Too?” as well as his viral 2021 rendition of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever”. He ended his set with “Be So Cruel,” a release from his 2023 album Where Do We Go From Here?.

thủy’s live performance brings an electric energy to her R&B tracks. Her stage is adorned with a plush pink velvet curtain and a glowing background. The setup displayed poetic imagery throughout the show including roses, butterfly wings, and sunsets. She shone underneath the stage lights, and her undeniable stage presence immediately invited the crowd to become a part of her show.

Tour traditions, which have been documented on her Instagram account, include serenading a random audience member during a rendition of her breakout hit “universe” and inviting more members to catwalk across the stage. The singer also brought ASTN back onstage to perform their song “Two Truths And A Lie” together. She ended the show with “girls like me don’t cry,” dedicated to a fan in front of the crowd.
