The Two Lips, formed in 2023, is a duo consisting of best friends Andrea and Jewlz from Los Angeles. Known for their heartfelt and dreamy bedroom pop, The Two Lips effortlessly presents a performance that showcases their collaborative spirit. They do this through choreographed dances and excellent on-stage chemistry.

The evening opened with artist Niko Rubio, who returned to OKC after previously opening for Omar Apollo in 2022. The crowd welcomed her with warm cheers of recognition. Rubio possesses a heartfelt, yet emotionally sharp stage presence. While she performed originals, including various unreleased songs, a standout was her cover of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You”. Rubio’s version was delicate and hypnotic, her voice floating over gentle guitar.
From the moment The Two Lips stepped into the soft wash of stage lights, the duo wove through a setlist that perfectly showcased a discography true to the feeling of girlhood. Their songs represent a mix of vulnerability and playful experimentation, transporting the audience straight into the bedrooms where the songs were born.

A crowd staple came with a performance on the omnichord accompanying a cover of “Sienna” by The Marias. The performance had a lo-fi magic to it; the instrument paired beautifully with their gentle harmonies. Sweet, emotional moments continued throughout the set with renditions of “Joel” and “cup of tea,” described onstage as one of their most vulnerable songs.

Of course, one of the most anticipated moments was “still love you (todavía)”, performed in both English and Spanish. The bilingual rendition was a crowd favorite, with fans singing along in both languages. The switch between the two felt effortless, highlighting the universality of longing and love.

Through soft harmonies, unexpected instrumentation, and lyrics that feel pulled straight from a journal, The Two Lips created an inviting evening of girlhood and emotion that remains universal no matter where their music takes them.
