The Happy Fits Put on a High-Energy Performance During the ‘Under the Shade of Green’ Tour

The Happy Fits stopped by White Oak Music Hall in Houston supported by Sarah and the Sundays on the fifth stop of the ‘Under the Shade of Green’ Tour.

From Pittstown, New Jersey, The Happy Fits are an Indie Rock band with a twist. The frontman of the trio, Calvin Langman, plays cello along with Ross Monteith on guitar and Luke Davis on drums. The band is well known for having uplifting tunes and a colorful demeanor. Their latest album, Under the Shade of Green features twelve tracks that are anything but boring.

Sarah and the Sundays, an Indie band from Austin, Texas, opened the show with a riveting set to get the crowd’s blood pumping. The Happy Fits opened their set with “Around and Around,” a song from their newest record Under the Shade of Green. Cellist and singer Calvin Langman ruled the stage with his delightful moves and vocals throughout the entire show. He even took a moment during the performance to speak on transgender rights. The Happy Fits concluded their set with the song “Grow Back,” from the album Concentrate. Following their closing song, the band returned to the stage for a three song encore, including the tracks “Hold Me Down,” “So Alright, Cool, Whatever” and “Too Late.”

I’m a Houston based photographer who loves being around live music and all the creative people involved in the local music scene. I enjoy capturing performers and artists doing what they love and the essence of how live music makes people feel. When Im not behind the lens, I love trying new things and visiting new places.
