The Aces are Stars at the Kessler Theater

Opener Lydia Night joins headliner The Aces at the Kessler Theater in Dallas

On December 2, alternative band The Aces continued their “Gold Star Baby World Tour” at the Kessler Theater in Dallas, Texas. At this stop, they were accompanied by indie artist Lydia Night. On this fall evening, the iconic Kessler neon sign was lit up, and the concertgoers gathered inside the cozy venue. After hitting up the merch table and bar, attendees headed to the general admission floor or the surrounding balcony and excitedly waited for the show to begin.

The first act to hit the stage was Lydia Night, a singer-songwriter from New Orleans, Louisiana. Lydia was formerly a member of the rock band The Regrettes, but has since then pursued a solo career. She currently has more than 40 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and her song “Pity Party” has accumulated almost a million streams. This year, Lydia released her debut album titled Parody Of Pleasure. During her performance, she wore a grey shirt with the word “Baby” bedazzled on the front, which was paired with a brown skirt, striped tights, and black boots. On stage, she played alongside her drummer, and her setlist included fun tracks such as “Chameleon” and “The Bomb”. Lydia’s portion of the show was energetic, and she successfully got the crowd singing and jumping along.

The last act to hit the stage was The Aces, a pop band from Utah. The Aces are composed of four members: sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez, Katie Henderson, and McKenna Petty. The band currently has almost 500 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their song “Daydream” has garnered more than 37 million streams. This year, The Aces released their latest album titled Gold Star Baby. The members walked onto the stage one by one, and the fans roared with cheers and applause. The Aces opened with “Welcome to the Gold Star Baby”, and their setlist incorporated old and new favorite tracks such as “Twin Flame”, “Don’t Freak”, and “Volcanic Love”.  Overall, both Lydia Night and The Aces delivered smooth vocals, catchy instrumentals, and entertaining crowd engagement.
