We ended the first weekend of SXSW at Poolsuite & Yahoo’s DISCO(NNECT) showcase at Hotel Van Zandt. The rooftop party was filled with tropical disco decor and vibes that transported guests to a past life when you’d log onto yahoo.com anytime you wanted to surf the World Wide Web.
The party had activations, tiki drinks that paid homage to the age of the internet like the ‘dial-up daiquiri,’ and merch from Yahoo x Poolsuite and Vacation sunscreen from a vending machine.
The party started with South Korean artist Shubostar playing her set poolside. She began the journey back in time with her electronic synth sound that mixed new beats and old tracks.The Knocks ended the night inside the tropical activation with a crowded room dancing into the night.
I am an Austin-based photographer and social media manager. My love for photography started in high school which lead me to study communications at Texas Tech University and The University of the Incarnate Word.
