Softcult Gets Carried Away at Empire in Austin

Softcult took to the stage at Empire Garage on Sunday night in Austin with a packed room. The twin duo got the crowd moving to their grunge sound with songs like “Love Song,”  “Spit It Out,” and newly released single, “16/25,” from their upcoming album When A Flower Doesn’t Grow. Before playing the final song of the show, “Spit It Out,” Softcult lead singer, Mercedes, encouraged fans to use their voices and speak out against divisive, hateful rhetoric.

Australian alternative band, Wayside, is supporting Sofcult on their North American tour, marking it as the first time the trio has toured in the U.S. Wayside played a variety of tracks from their debut album, Shine Onto Me and their sophomore release, What Does Your Soul Look Like, including “Half Nelson,” and “Lean Into It” and “Route 22.” Softcult’s lead singer joined Wayside to play their recently released song titled, “Can You See It?.”

Dallas-based Olive Vox opened the show.
