Notable rock band Sleeping with Sirens takes a pit stop at the House of Blues in Dallas during their “Let’s Cheers To This” 2024 tour.
As the box office hangs up the large and bold sign reading “SLEEPING WITH SIRENS SOLD OUT”, the fans begin forming a line outside the venue to move through security and the ticket scanners to finally prepare for the highly anticipated night of action and amazing music.
To start the show off, Australian-based indie rock-style female duo, Teenage Joans, pumps up the crowd with heavy riffs, addictive drum beats, and catchy vocals. Teenage Joans formed in Adelaide, Australia in 2018. The duo consists of vocalist and guitarist, Cahli Baker, and drummer and vocalist, Talia Borg. Throughout their performance in Dallas, their set consisted of plenty of jumps, kicks, and legendary tracks that kept the audience head banging and dancing throughout their entire set.
Soon after packing up their set, the second opener of the night, Holding Absence, did one final sound check of their instruments before they were ready to wow the crowd. Similar to Teenage Joans, Holding Absence is also a band from overseas. Formed in 2015, from Wales, United Kingdom, Holding Absence is an alternative rock band, currently consisting of four members.
With endless energy from lead vocalist Lucas Woodland, complimented by talented instrumentals from drummer Ashley Green, bassist Benjamin Elliott, and guitarist Scott Carey, blends a perfect combination for a killer performance. Holding Absence created such an unforgettable atmosphere for the audience that if a random person were to walk into the House of Blues that night, there would be no question whether or not this lively group was the headliner.
After Holding Absence wrapped up their final song, the crowd was definitely warmed up and ready for their beloved headliner to take the stage, Sleeping with Sirens. Originally formed in 2009 in Orlando, Florida, Sleeping with Sirens currently has five talented members. Kellie Quinn on lead vocals, lead guitarist Tony Pizzuti, guitarist Nick Martin, Justin Hills on bass, and drummer Matty Best. As the overhead lights began to dim the crowded room roared with excitement as the band began making their way onto the stage.
The set was a musical performance of a lifetime, with high energy and good vibes that seemed to prolong throughout the entire show. Fans were having a blast, dancing, singing, and moshing to their favorite Sleeping with Sirens tracks as the band made a constant effort to continuously connect with the crowd and make the fans eager for more and more.
After Sleeping with Sirens wrapped up their set, the fans all left the venue with a smile on their face, and most people with a merchandise item or two. With a sold out show as exciting and entertaining as this one, it is highly likely that Sleeping with Sirens will continue these unforgettable performances throughout the United States during their 2024 tour.
I am currently attending the University of North Texas with a photojournalism major. I love going to concerts of all genres, whether I am stage diving or headbanging, I never miss an opportunity to appreciate live music. In my free time, I enjoy thrifting for CD's and records, spending time with my cats, going to art exhibits, and traveling (especially to NYC). My biggest inspiration is Danny Clinch, and one day I aspire to open up my own gallery to showcase my work!
