Ron Pope Makes a Heartfelt Appearance in Chicago’s Park West with Lydia Luce

Ron Pope takes on the North American Tour with support of Lydia Luce in Chicago this past weekend.

Ron Pope stopped by Chicago, Illinois during his North American Tour to perform for his fans at Park West. The opener Lydia Luce set the mood for the night with a beautiful view of the stage set up that was shared between both artists. Luce is a multi-instrumentalist and folk/americana singer-songwriter who is Nashville-based. She talked to her audience between sets which gave many great laughs to connect and relate to her when she described the meaning behind most of her songs per set. When introducing her song “Helen” it was described as being named after the volcano Mt. St. Helens; She also let the listeners know that her husband was her muse for most of her records when it came to the heartbreak songs, but are now of course on good terms. After being an independent artist for so long, Luce signed a record deal and is now putting out a record in October and performed it for fans to listen to.

After a brief intermission, Ron Pope took the stage, alongside his band member and bestfriend Paul Hammer. Pope started off with introducing each other and letting fans know how they have been friends for 20 years and welcomed us to his anniversary party. They have made music for a long time and started off with performing the very first song they wrote together called “Snow Song.” When Pope was introducing “Good Ole Days” he wrote it to remind him and his wife that there’s so many moving parts of your life and soak up the beauty while you can. Within parts of his set he shared the stage with the opener Lydia Luce which was a wholesome moment of support all around as she not only played guitar, but the violin as well. As it reached the end, the song everyone was waiting for “A Drop in the Ocean” was performed, but had asked everyone to get as close as they can and to stand together to end off the night.

I'm based by the Chicagoland area in Illinois. I would describe myself as a multidisciplinary artist who specializes in photo, design and some illustration. I am a recent graduate in Graphic Design and love being involved in the entertainment industry. I love thrifting, visiting galleries/museums, listening to podcasts and going to countless concerts when I can. My very first concert was the Jonas Brothers when I was very little!
