Rising Artists To Watch at Austin City Limits Festival 2022

The most anticipated and beloved annual Austin City Limits Festival is set to take place in Texas this October, and we’ve never been more excited.

Austin City Limits takes over Texas for two weekends with a stacked lineup of artists featuring major headliners such as SZA, Phoenix, Wallows and Paramore. Weekend One takes place on October 7th-9th and Weekend Two on 14th-16th at Zilker Park across 8 different stages. Want to check out some amazing artists performing at ACL Festival? L’impératrice
(Both Weekends) 

The French pop and Nu Disco band L’impératrice, also known as “The Empress” first formed in Paris in 2012. After a couple of dazzling EPs like Sonate Pacifique and Odyssee, they finally released their first album Tako Tsubo in March 2021 with their hit track “Peur des filles”.

Taipei Houston
(Both Weekends) 

Alternative/Indie band, Taipei Houston rages between the lines of rock & roll with a mix of grunge to create their iconic sound. Their new single, “As The Sun Sets” has the core defining elemental instrumentation that the rock genre desperately loves. The guitar-lickin’ and driving bass track voices the mood changes from day to night and what will eventually come out. If you’re looking to rock out and leave your worries behind, check out Taipei Houston on both weekends of the festival.

Samia
(Both Weekends) 

Samia is an indie rock singer/songwriter from New York City who has gained the hearts of many by serenading them with her soothing voice and lyrics about coming of age. Her debut album The Baby has garnered much attraction and love from fans who call it their comfort album. Don’t miss out on Samia and catch one of the most anticipated sets from ACL!

Sarah & The Sundays
(Weekend One)

Austin, Texas native Indie pop/rock band, Sarah & The Sundays released their debut album So You’re Mad About The Cups in 2019 which features one of their most played tracks, “Moving On” and “Ruby Fields,” followed by their sophomore album The Living End in 2021. It must be full circle to play at one of Texas biggest music festivals especially when it takes place in your hometown. If you’re looking to rock out and jam to one of the rising bands coming from Texas, don’t miss out on Austin’s favorite indie band Sarah and The Sundays.

Charlotte Sands
(Weekend One)

Charlotte Sands is the ultimate star on the rise who quickly gathered the attention of the public with her vibrant blue hair and her song “Dress,” which serves as a nod to Harry Styles 2019 Vogue cover and men who are breaking out of gender-norms. She fuses the sound between alternative/rock and bouncy-pop to create head-banging and danceable tracks to jam out to. She recently released a new EP Love and Other Lies in January 2022. If you’re feeling a little angsty but still want to dance, check out Charlotte Sands’ set at ACL Weekend One.

MUNA
(Weekend One)

Indie pop darlings, MUNA has reached new heights upon creating the most danceable and catchiest songs that you’ll ever hear. One of their most praised tracks, “I Know A Place” from their debut album About U released in 2017 is the ultimate LGBTQIA+ anthem that embraces the community with open arms and promotes nothing but love and a safe space. They recently signed to Saddest Factory label and released their self-titled third album in June 2022. Check out MUNA for a chance to have a dance-off with your friends or sing your heart out.

The Aquadolls
(Weekend One)

Indie rock and alternative group, The Aquadolls formed in California and encompasses their love for pop & electronic to surf music. Their last album release, The Dream and The Deception from 2018 features nineteen tracks, including one of their most popular songs, “Communicationissexy.” The new single, “help im falling 4u and i can’t get up” serves dark and groovy realness that will get you lovestruck immediately. Wilderado
(Weekend Two)

Wilderado is an indie-folk band from Tulsa and their sound is full of feel-good energy sprinkled with summer vibes, which creates the perfect blend of catchy melodies. Their success comes from one of their most streamed tracks on Spotify, “Surefire”, from their self-titled album release in 2021. Vacations
(Weekend Two)

The most vibin’ and groovin’ indie/shoegaze rockers from Newcastle, Australia released their first debut album “Changes” in January 2018 with tracks filled with the most fuzzy and warm feelings. They’ve recently released their new album Forever In Bloom in September 2020. The 2016 EP Vibes features fan favorites such as “Young,” “Relax,” and “Home.” If you’re looking for the most dreamiest and swaying band to chill back with, check out Vacations at ACL Weekend Two.

Neil Frances
(Weekend Two)

Los Angeles alternative/indie band, Neil Frances balances the funky pop elements with retro and electronic vibes. Their newest album, There is no Neil Frances features 14 tracks filled with the utmost psychedelic atmosphere that is perfect for jamming and daydreaming alone in your room. Sloppy Jane

Sloppy Jane (Haley Dahl) is an Indie/Alternative band from Los Angeles, California. Their latest album, Madison released in 2021 is a record filled with heart-wrenching lyricism blanketed by beautifully-haunting instrumentation that transports you into a different time period.
