Co-headliners Grayscale and Smallpools bring their “Night Shift” tour to the House of Blues in Dallas.
Last Tuesday, alternative bands Grayscale and Smallpools continued their “Night Shift” tour at the House of Blues in Dallas. At this date, the bands were joined by openers Caroline Romano and The Romance. Inside of the iconic venue, hundreds of fans congregated to watch the stacked lineup hit the stage.
The second to last act of the night was Grayscale, a rock band from Pennsylvania. They have more than 250 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their track “Forever Yours” has accumulated more than 18 million streams. This year, the band has released their Not Afraid To Die EP and their single “Mum II”. Grayscale’s touring band comprised of their lead singer, two guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer. Their setlist consisted of both old and new fan favorite songs, including “In Violet”, “Fever Dream”, and “Painkiller Weather”. Grayscale’s performance was electric, and they delivered flawless vocals alongside groovy instrumentals.
The last act of the night was Smallpools, an indie band from Los Angeles. The band has more than 850 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their song “Dreaming” has more than 100 million streams. This year, the band released their Ghost Town Road (east) EP. Their set opened with a radio intro, which transitioned into their track “Nightshift”. Lead singer Sean Scanlon wore a sparkly red button up with black skinny jeans, and the vibrant stage lighting engulfed the other band members in bright colors. While performing, the band playfully interacted with each other and the audience. Smallpools’ setlist included several beloved songs such as “American Love” and “Dreaming”.
Overall, both Grayscale and Smallpools brought energies that had the entire audience dancing and singing along with with them.
