Peach Pit and Briston Maroney visited House of Blues in Houston on their co-headlining Long Hair, Long Life Tour on June 18 with support from Bnny.
From Chicago, Illinois, Bnny is an indie rock band fronted by Jessica Viscius. Bnny’s debut record Everything was released in August of 2021, and is full of beautiful, mellow and raw tracks. Her latest release was introduced to us in April of 2025, titled One Million and Three Love Songs.
Bnny’s performance was compelling from the start. Viscius was casually joking with the crowd in between songs and made the performance feel quite personal. She and her band performed many of their best songs including “Not Even You” and “Take That Back”. They even played a cover of “Undone – The Sweater Song” by Weezer, which the audience loved. Bnny made for a wonderful opener for Briston Maroney and Peach Pit, and did a great job getting the crowd excited for the rest of the show.

As Briston Maroney and his band took the stage, the audience screamed and cheered. He kicked things off with “Real Good Swimmer”, a track from his latest release titled JIMMY. Briston Maroney is an alternative/indie rock singer and songwriter from Knoxville, Tennessee. He auditioned for American Idol in 2013 and advanced to Hollywood, where he was ultimately eliminated after reaching the top 30. He would later go on to release his first full length album Sunflower in 2021, after years of dropping singles and EPs. His song “Freakin’ Out On the Interstate” helped him blow up and it remains his most popular track.
Fans at House of Blues piled in to watch him play, and were not left disappointed. His stage setup was immaculate— full of handmade rocks, trees and branches. It felt like seeing a concert in the rainforest. Maroney and his band carried amazing stage presence and high energy. They played a wide variety of tracks including “Small Talk” and “Body”. Dougal Bain McLean, a touring musician for Peach Pit, was brought to the stage and together they played “Land of Light” and “Caroline”.
Briston Maroney finished off his performance with “Freakin’ Out On the Interstate”, which the entire crowd sang along to.

Finally, Peach Pit took the stage and began their performance with an impressive mashup of their song “Magpie” and “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath. Peach Pit is a Canadian indie pop band formed in 2016. They released their debut record Being So Normal in June of 2018 and have since dropped three more albums. Their latest record, Magpie, was released in October of 2024. The band immediately blew fans away with their incredible stage presence. They had amazing chemistry on stage and sounded even better live. “Drop the Guillotine”, track 1 from Being So Normal, was the second song of the night.
Every fan in the crowd was dancing and singing along. Lead guitarist Christopher Vanderkooy danced all around the stage and got close to the audience as he shredded on his guitar, and singer Neil Smith matched the energy as well. Peach Pit played many of their biggest hits, including “Alrighty Aphrodite” and “Shampoo Bottles”. They also performed a cover of “What Once Was” by Her’s. After a brief break backstage, the band returned for an encore including the songs “Peach Pit” and “Tommy’s Party”.

The Long Hair, Long Life Tour will continue until June 26, with the last stop being in Toronto, Ontario.
